Spin entanglement suppression and symmetry enhancements
Yu-Tin Huang
It has been observed that the emergence of approximate spin-flavor symmetries in low-energy baryon interactions is intimately tied to the suppression of spin-entanglement. We will demonstrate that a similar phenomenon appears in a gravitational context, where the dynamics of binary objects are captured by the classical limit of the 2->2 S-matrix. We will see that for neutral objects, maximal spin suppression occurs for rotating black holes. Generalizing to charged and supersymmetric systems, maximal suppression also occurs for extremal and BPS configurations.
